The principle aim of the society is to study and practice the art of medieval (14th and 15th Century) swordsmanship in all its forms, focusing in particular on German medieval Longsword, and medieval sword and buckler.
Additional areas that will be studied are wrestling, dagger and sword and shield, and further potential areas of study include (but not limited to) Quarterstaff, Poleaxe and Greatsword.
The end objectives are to create a modern codex of techniques and styles, and develop a syllabus for learning. This includes a means of progression in the form of grades. Also, a competition system shall be created, with the purpose of testing skills and techniques at full speed and force.
A further objective is to create masters to teach, as specialists in a certain style and weapon. These specialists will train to a very high level in their chosen style
